Change to the PAC Membership Categories

 

Following a revision of the PAC Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier in the year, PAC is pleased to announce that Full membership is now available to Accreditation Bodies operating in the Asia and/or Pacific Region, and not only to APEC member economies as was the case in previous years.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) have designated June 9th of each year as International Accreditation Day.

New Document Numbering System

 

Following the introduction of the IAF/ILAC A series documents, it was agreed that PAC should perform a thorough examination of all its policies and procedures to eliminate those that had been incorporated into the new IAF/ILAC documents and to ensure that all remaining PAC documents complied with the A series documents.

In February 2008 the SADCA Project Management Committee [PMC] met in Gaborone, Botswana.  The aim was to discuss pertinent SADCAS issues, the support the PMC would give to SADCAS going forward and time was also spent on the preparations for the 2008 annual SADCA meeting.

New Look for PAC Website

 

Over the next month or so you will notice a change to the PAC website.  The content is in the process of being completely updated and at the same time we have developed a more modern “look” to the website that is, we hope, more interesting and easier to navigate.

PAC Promotional Brochure

 

The PAC promotional brochure has been published and all members should receive printed copies shortly.  The brochure is also available for downloading from the PAC website, along with a letter to regulators and other interested parties, explaining the purpose and functions of PAC.
